We are off to a running start on our second semester of Middle School Chorus. The focus this semester is on sight-reading music. Students have a wonderful opportunity to earn a spot in a Georgia State Competition in March. We also are preparing for our All-
County Concert, February 22, and our Spring concert, .
I am also still teaching a General Music class for 8th graders. We are learning keyboard skills, music reading. , and learning the innovative techniques and philosophies of modern composers. Students will work in groups to compose and perform their own compositions.
I AM ENJOYING A GREAT YEAR!
Thank you for supporting my efforts to make your students competent middle school musicians. I appreciate the opportunity to influence them. Attached is a copy of the Choral Handbook for the 2017-2018 year. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
I will have after school hours for tutoring and extra rehearsals. You will be receiving a Chorus Calendar soon.
Students are expected to bring paper and pen or pencil to class daily. A pocket folder will be helpful to them to store their handouts, quizzes, and tests that they may want to bring home for further study and review.
