Welcome!

I’m so excited to welcome you and your scholar to a new school year! This is my 7th year teaching and my 5th year at Burke County Middle School. I believe every student has the ability to learn, grow, and thrive, and it’s my mission to help make that happen in our classroom.

I have a deep love for literacy, learning, and self-discovery, and I hope to inspire your scholar to not only become a stronger reader, but also a more confident, curious, and empowered thinker this year.

📚 Classroom Access & Updates

All students can access daily lessons, assignments, and classroom updates through Google Classroom. Each scholar will receive a unique code to join our class.
Please check Google Classroom regularly for announcements, homework, and important resources.

📦 Supply List for Reading Class
Please try to have these items by the first week of school:

• 📘 1 Composition Notebook (for journaling & reading reflections)

• ✏️ Pencils or pens

• 📂 1 Folder with pockets (for handouts & assignments)

• 📒 Sticky notes (for annotating texts and group work)

• 🧼 Tissues or hand sanitizer (optional but appreciated!)
