Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year!!!

We are excited to welcome you this school year.  Our mission is to prepare students to succeed to the next level. Each day we expect each student to be an active contributor to their success both academically and behavioral. Working together we will achieve both and have an excellent year!!

About Mrs. Carter

I was born and raised in Mississippi where I attended public schools and graduated from the prestigious Mississippi University for Women with a BS Degree in Political Science and Economics. Later, I received an Education Certification from Armstrong Atlantic College and later I became Gifted Certified. Thanks to the military I have lived in seven states, including Hawaii for three years, where I taught Drama and Careers.  It is a pleasure teaching the children of Burke County and getting to know the wonderful people of this community.

Study Focus

This year we will focus on the regions of Southwest Asia (Middle East), Southern Asia, Eastern Asia & Africa.  We will examine the political & physical features, governments, economy, culture, and ethnic & religious groups of these regions.

Every student will be issued a Georgia Coach book.  However, the majority of their experiences will be from the internet, and other related resources. Interactive activities will be done in small groups, large groups, pairs, whole class, and individually.
