Thanks for stopping by my web page today. Here are a few things about me: I've been a teacher for over 20 years, 11 of them have been in Burke County. Teaching was always my dream. As a young student, I spent my afternoons pretending to be a teacher as I read aloud my class notes from each day. Also, I would write my spelling and vocabulary words on the board as I taught my "imaginary class." I didn't realize it at the time, but I was forming a great daily habit by playing school with my real work and reinforcing what I learned daily! Little did I know that it would lead me to be a successful student! So successful, that I went on to gain a college degree in teaching. I share this to inspire and encourage my students to go home and work a little bit each night on whatever they did in school. It is amazing what 30 minutes of reviewing each day can do for you! It's just like the book we are currently reading in E/LA, The Seven habits of Highly Effective Teens. It pays to be proactive, take initiative and have goals!
I hope we have a wonderful school year! Join me in claiming "The Power of the Positive!" It really works!
